Spatial Media Acquires LiDAR News; Announced at InterGEO

Website enhancements & eNewsletter scheduled; Interactive magazine planned for 2011

Köln, Germany & Frederick, MD – October 6th, 2010 – Spatial Media LLC is pleased to announce the acquisition of www.LidarNews.com with a mission of further promoting the adoption of LiDAR and 3D laser scanning technology for the AEC, GIS/mapping, metrology, digital heritage, forensic and other related industries. Gene V. Roe will continue as Managing Editor. He holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer and land surveyor. Gene brings over 40 years of experience in the surveying, mapping and remote sensing fields, where he has taught, built a 50 person consulting firm, and developed software products.

LidarNews.com and a forthcoming digital magazine will offer users, manufacturers, and OEMs a one-stop platform for all things LiDAR-whether terrestrial, mobile or aerial. The first interactive publication will be released in early 2011. An enhanced eNewsletter will begin publishing in early November.
